New Xbox 360 Arcade and Kinect bundles officially announced

Share |

6 days ago, Amazon Germany slipped up by posting a product page for the new Xbox 360 Arcade bundle, which was to include the new slim version of Microsoft's gaming console. Today, Microsoft responded officially with a press release, confirming what Amazon Germany told us previously. The new Arcade bundle will include a slim Xbox 360 with a matte finish, 4GB of internal storage space, and the built-in 802.11n WiFi of its big brother.

Microsoft also took the opportunity to announce the pricing for the 360 Kinect motion tracking accessory and a bundle including it. The Kinect alone will cost $149, and its bundle will cost $299. The bundle is essentially the Arcade bundle with a Kinect thrown in, mostly because the Kinect is aimed at more casual gamers, and also to keep to cost down.

The new Arcade bundle will go on sale August 3rd, while the Kinect and its bundle are still set for release on November 4th.
